Our Leadership
Revenue surpassed the half-trillion rupee mark for the first time in history driven by the strong performance of the Consumer & Retail Sector and supported by the resilient performance of export-oriented businesses. Despite a contraction in profit margins driven by escalating commodity prices, Profit Before Tax rose by 4% to Rs.38.04 bn during the year. Hayleys PLC also strengthened its financial profile with a Rs.9 bn rights issue and Rs. 12.9 debenture issues- both of which were oversubscribed. Hayleys PLC also retained its AAA(lka) credit rating from Fitch Ratings with stable outlook.
The Group committed Rs.33.37bn in capital expenditure advancing transformative initiatives. An investment of USD 18.18mn is underway in the Purification Sector to expand energy storage solutions capacity. Hand Protection invested in new production lines for sports and electrical safety gloves, complemented by advanced automation. Mabroc Teas commenced development of a larger manufacturing facility, while the Agriculture Sector is establishing a coconut water concentrate facility. A Group-wide Digital Roadmap was also launched across five pillars: Digital Innovation, Digital Literacy, Digital Product Delivery, Data-to-Value, and Change & Communication.
The Group’s governance structure has evolved in line with its growing scale and complexity while remaining agile. Strong alignment between the Board and the Group Management Committee (GMC) is central to coordinated leadership. During the year, Ms. Rumal Fernando was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director, bringing expertise in supply chain management and logistics. Key areas of Board focus included implementation of the Personal Data Protection Act and oversight of sustainability-related risks under mandatory SLFRS S1 and S2 Sustainability Disclosure Standards. Three new members joined the GMC — Mr. Choliya De Silva, Mr. Ruwan Rajapakse and Mr. Brahman Balaratnarajah
Guided by the Hayleys Lifecode, the Group's ESG roadmap, all 14 sectors now have dedicated ESG roadmaps translating Group-wide priorities into targeted action plans and measurable outcomes. Hayleys PLC, together with nine Group companies, remains committed to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the CEO Water Mandate. Renewable energy now accounts for 75% of the Group's energy consumption. Despite significantly higher business activity, Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions increased by just 1%, reflecting the effectiveness of ongoing decarbonisation efforts. The Group also reached 668,859 CSR beneficiaries during the year.
Hayleys enters its next chapter from a position of strength — a portfolio broad in scope and adaptable in character, supported by deep capabilities, strong market positions and disciplined capital allocation. The Group's entry into the large-format supermarket sector and the formation of Hayleys Mobility (electric and hybrid vehicles) mark significant milestones in portfolio evolution. During the year, Hayleys accounted for 5% of Sri Lanka's export income, generated USD 800mn in foreign exchange earnings and provided employment to more than 38,700 people.

Way Forward
The global economic outlook remains fluid and increasingly influenced by geopolitical developments. However, the Sri Lankan economy has made significant progress in restoring macroeconomic stability.

Active Governance
Over the years, Hayleys has developed a governance architecture that reflects the scale and complexity of its operations while remaining sufficiently agile to respond to an increasingly dynamic operating environment. Governance structures facilitate strong alignment between the Board and the Group Management Committee (GMC) — a dynamic that is especially critical in an organisation as diverse as Hayleys, where coordinated leadership and unified strategic direction are vital.
Key areas of Board focus during the year included strengthening governance frameworks relating to the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Act and oversight of sustainability-related risks and opportunities in line with the mandatory application of the SLFRS S1 and S2 Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
The Group’s financial position was further affirmed by the retention of its national long-term credit rating of AAA(lka) by Fitch Ratings with a stable outlook — reaffirming confidence in the Group’s financial strength and governance standards.
The Board Remuneration Committee provides oversight of remuneration-related matters, determining the remuneration of the Chairman/Chief Executive and Executive Directors and setting guidelines for management remuneration across the Group.
Strategic Leadership
During the year, Hayleys continued to strengthen the Board’s collective skill profile and broaden diversity across the Group’s Boards. Ms. Rumal Fernando was welcomed to the Hayleys PLC Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director, bringing valuable expertise in supply chain management and logistics.
Encouraging progress was made in enhancing gender diversity across Boards, reflecting the belief that diverse perspectives lead to improved depth and effectiveness of decision-making.
The Group Management Committee (GMC) was further strengthened during the year with the appointment of three new members: Mr. Choliya De Silva, Mr. Ruwan Rajapakse and Mr. Brahman Balaratnarajah — whose deep industry expertise and diverse leadership experience further enhance the Group’s strategic and operational capabilities.
The effectiveness of the Board’s decision-making is enhanced through Sector-level engagement with leadership teams, who contribute domain expertise and specific insights to strategic decision-making.
Ethics & Culture
Hayleys maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery and corruption across all operations. The Corporate Governance Framework operates on a foundation of ethical conduct, effective risk management and stakeholder engagement — ensuring operations remain resilient and trustworthy in the face of future challenges.
The Group recorded Nil compliance incidents during the year, maintaining 100% compliance with all relevant laws and regulations across its operations worldwide.
The Group’s human capital strategy remained focused on creating a connected and future-ready workforce through digitalisation of HR processes, leadership development and targeted upskilling. Anti-discriminatory training programmes continue to be rolled out across the Group to build an inclusive culture.
Whistleblower protection mechanisms are established across the Group, providing employees and stakeholders with confidential channels to report concerns — reinforcing a culture of accountability and transparency at every level of the organisation.

Strategic ESG Integration
The Board, as the highest decision-making authority of the Group, holds overall oversight of ESG matters — including the formulation of sustainability-related policies and goals and the implementation of the ESG framework.
The Board is supported by an ESG Steering Committee, with similar governance structures established at Sector level to ensure consistent oversight and execution across the Group.
The Group's ESG Roadmap includes a comprehensive suite of ESG policies across all material focus areas, applied as a minimum standard Group-wide for a consistent approach to managing material ESG risks.
Strategic ESG Integration
The Group's ESG strategy is articulated through the Hayleys Lifecode, its comprehensive ESG roadmap for 2030. The first edition was launched in 2022.
All Sectors have successfully rolled out ESG roadmaps and targets aligned with the Group framework, with performance consistently monitored. The Group remains largely on track for its 2030 commitments, though progress in certain areas has been more gradual than anticipated.
The Lifecode centres on six key areas of focus, spanning the Group's environmental, social and governance commitments.
Strategic ESG Integration
The Policy on Matters Relating to the Board of Directors was amended to include oversight of the Group's sustainability and climate-related risks and opportunities.
With the rollout of sector-specific ESG roadmaps across 7 Sectors, all Sectors within the Group now have established, tailored roadmaps aligned with the overall Group framework.

Chairman & Chief Executive
Since becoming Chairman and Chief Executive of Hayleys in 2009, Mohan Pandithage has redefined the Group’s growth trajectory, transforming it into one of Sri Lanka’s most diversified, sustainable, and socio-economically impactful enterprises. His strategic investments and foresight in capturing emerging opportunities have significantly boosted the Group's earnings potential and long-term resilience, earning him the title of "Business Leader for the Year 2025" by LMD.
An accomplished industry veteran, Mr. Pandithage led Hayleys’ Transportation Sector before stepping into the chairmanship. His outstanding contributions to transportation and logistics have earned him high-profile accolades: he was the first Sri Lankan to receive the Pinnacle Lifetime Award from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), where he is also a Fellow. Additionally, he has been honored as the "Best Shipping Personality" by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and was inducted as a "Legend of Logistics" by the Sri Lanka Logistics and Freight Forwarding Association.
Beyond his role at Hayleys, he serves as a Council Member of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon and a Member of the Advisory Council of the Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA). He also represents Mexico as the Honorary Consul to Sri Lanka.
Co-Chairman & Non-Executive Director
Mr. Dhammika Perera is recognized as one of Sri Lanka’s most dynamic, inspirational, and highly regarded business leaders. Renowned as an exceptional turnaround strategist, he has built an outstanding reputation for successfully reviving, transforming, and growing businesses across a multitude of competitive sectors.
With more than 35 years of hands-on experience, Mr. Perera provides masterful strategic leadership. His diverse portfolio spans key industries, including: Manufacturing, Banking and Finance, Leisure and Hospitality, Renewable Energy, Retail Business. His extensive tenure serving on the boards of numerous quoted and unquoted companies equips him with deep insights into corporate strategy, robust governance, and sustainable business transformation.
Ultimately, Mr. Perera’s core strengths lie in his unique ability to identify high-growth opportunities, navigate complex market dynamics, and guide long-term strategic direction. His visionary foresight and governance expertise remain instrumental in driving continuous corporate expansion, ensuring operational resilience, and delivering long-term value creation.
Executive Director
Mr. Ganegoda is an accomplished corporate leader with over 30 years of multifaceted experience across diverse industries, spanning senior leadership roles in major private sector organizations both in Sri Lanka and overseas. His extensive history with the Hayleys Group includes a foundational tenure from 1987 to 2002, followed by his return to the conglomerate in 2007. That same year, he was appointed to the Group Management Committee, and he currently oversees the Strategic Business Development Unit and Group Information Technology for Hayleys PLC.
Complementing his executive experience is a strong academic and professional foundation. Mr. Ganegoda holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Additionally, he is a Fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka and a Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Australia.
Executive Director
Ms. Dharmasena joined the Hayleys Agriculture Sector as a Management Accountant in 1991, rising to the rank of Managing Director of Hayleys Agriculture Holdings and its subsidiary companies and to the Group Management Committee in 2018.
Ms. Dharmasena is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. She has attended Leadership and Executive Management Programmes at the Indian School of Business Hyderabad and at the National University of Singapore.
Executive Director
Mr. Karr has a distinguished career in the hospitality sector with core expertise in hotel operations, brand development, strategic leadership, and international hospitality management. He served for over 16 years with John Keells Holdings PLC in senior leadership roles and as General Manager of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, playing a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the portfolio, heading the brand development for Cinnamon. He holds a Master’s Degree in Hospitality and Business Studies from the United Kingdom and brings over 40 years of extensive experience in the international hospitality industry, in Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. During his two decades in the United Kingdom hospitality industry, he served in several senior leadership positions, ending his stint as General Manager of Bristol Marriott and Marriott Marble Arch, London.
Independent Director
Mr. Alles was the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Hatton National Bank PLC (‘HNB’) and counts over 37 years of banking experience, having served several international banks including the National Bank of Abu-Dhabi, Saudi British Bank-Riyadh, British Bank of the Middle-East and HSBC, Dubai and Colombo before taking on the reins at HNB. He was a Director of the Sri Lanka Banks’ Association (SLBA) and its Chairman from 2014 to 2016. He served as Chairman of the Asian Bankers Association for 3 years from 2018 onwards, was a member of its Board of Directors and also served as the Chairman of its Advisory Committee. Mr.Alles holds a MBA in Finance (Firstclass) from the University of Stirling in United Kingdom. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
Executive Director
Mr. Kariyawasan possesses extensive leadership experience in the manufacturing sector, including more than 15 years within the Hayleys Group. He was appointed to the Group Management Committee in February 2010 and currently holds overall responsibility for the conglomerate's Purification Sector. Prior to his tenure at Hayleys, he established his industry expertise as the Director and General Manager of Ansell Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, and he has also served as the Chairman of the Manufacturing Association of the Export Processing Zone in Biyagama.
His executive background is backed by robust technical and professional qualifications. Mr. Kariyawasan holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, specializing in Electronics and Telecommunications, from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the UK and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification in continuous improvement methodology from Motorola University, Malaysia.
Non-Executive Director
Dr. Cabral is a distinguished President’s Counsel of Sri Lanka with over 38 years of experience in commercial, civil, and criminal law, specializing in areas such as intellectual property, company law, and international trade. A renowned practitioner in the Supreme and Commercial High Courts, he has been pivotal in shaping national legal frameworks by helping draft key legislations, including the current Companies Act, the Arbitration Act, and Intellectual Property Law. His global and national legal standing is further highlighted by his six-year tenure on the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris and his service on the Law Commission of Sri Lanka.
Beyond active litigation, Dr. Cabral holds a doctorate in Corporate Law from the University of Canberra and contributes extensively to governance, academia, and professional education. He has served on the advisory committees of various prestigious bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, and the Postgraduate Institute of Management. Committed to mentoring future legal professionals, he acts as a senior visiting lecturer at multiple local and international universities and has authored several authoritative books on corporate law and corporate governance.
Executive Director
Mr. Waidyaratne counts over 40 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, primarily within the Hayleys Advantis Group where he has held several senior leadership positions. He was appointed to the Hayleys Group Management Committee and as the Managing Director of the Hayleys Advantis Group in 2011. A prominent figure in the broader industry, he is also a former Chairman of both the Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA) and the Sri Lanka Logistics and Freight Forwarders’ Association (SLFFA).
His extensive corporate background is supported by robust academic credentials and global executive training. Mr. Waidyaratne holds an MBA from Edith Cowan University of Western Australia and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport of Sri Lanka. Additionally, he has enhanced his leadership acumen through executive development programs at prestigious institutions, including the National University of Singapore, the Indian School of Business, and INSEAD.

Independent Director
Mr. Speldewinde is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. He possesses wide experience in managing local as well as international facilities and has been an integral member of the MAS Group for over 26 years. He served as the CEO of Stretchline Holdings headquartered in Hong Kong, with manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka and overseas.
Senior Independent Director
Mr. Perera is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA- CA Sri Lanka) and a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA), UK. He served as the Managing Partner of KPMG Sri Lanka, while also serving on the on the KPMG Middle East & South Asia Board during his tenure as Managing Partner of the Firm. Prior to being appointed as Managing Partner he functioned as the Head of HR, Risk Management Partner and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Perera counts over 40 years of experience in audits of conglomerates and listed companies with diversified business interests. He served as the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka during the years 2006 and 2007 and as Chairman of the Sri Lanka Auditing Standards Committee from year 2009 to 2013. He also served as a Board Member of Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA), one of four regional organisations recognised by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
Independent Director
Ms. Rumal Fernando is an accomplished supply chain leader with over 25 years of experience in consumer and retail industry. Throughout her career she has led functions across sales, procurement, customer service and logistics. Joined as the first female field sales manager at Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd and held several pivotal leadership roles over the years. She executed numerous transformational initiatives with both suppliers and customers, strengthening service resilience, improving operational efficiencies, implementing cost-optimization strategies and ensuring high standards of quality and safety in her areas of responsibility.
Ms. Fernando holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree from the University of New Delhi and Master of Business Administration in International Trade and Logistics from the Post Graduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayawardenepura. Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (UK). Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK).
Managing Director – Hayleys Plantations
An industry veteran with over 42 years of experience in the plantations sector, Dr. Rajadurai currently serves as the Managing Director of Hayleys Plantation Sector comprising Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, Kelani Valley Plantations PLC and Horana Plantations PLC. He joined the Hayleys Group in 2013, prior to which he held senior leadership positions in several leading plantation companies. He was also formerly the Chairman of the Planters’ Association of Ceylon, Board Member of the Sri Lanka Tea Board, Tea Research Institute, Rubber Research Board, Tea Small Holdings Development Authority and the Tea Council of Sri Lanka, Chairman of Tea Research Institute Consultative Committee Estates & Consultative Committee Research.
He holds a Ph.D in Management, D.Sc in Agriculture, MBA and M.Sc in Agriculture and Plantation Crops from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture and a M.Sc. in Organisational Behaviour. He also holds a B.Sc Honors in Plantation Management.
Managing Director – Hayleys Fabric Group
Director/CEO of the Textiles Sector in the Hayleys Group, heading Hayleys Fabric PLC, which he joined in March 2013, and South Asia Textiles Limited which Hayleys Fabric PLC acquired in 2021. Prior to joining Hayleys Fabric PLC, Mr. Goonetilleke served as Director of Brandix X’pressions (Pvt) Ltd, and was appointed to the Board of CLT Apparel (India) (Pvt) Ltd in January 2011, a fully-owned subsidiary of Brandix Lanka Ltd. He also served as the Managing Director/CEO of Textured Jersey Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Linea Clothing (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of MAS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd and the CEO of Elpitiya Plantations Ltd.
>He received his higher education in the United Kingdom, receiving a B.Sc in Engineering qualifying as a Graduate Engineer (B. Sc. Eng.).
Head – Group Human Resources & Legal
A lawyer by profession, Ms. Talpahewa is responsible for the Human Resources and Legal Services of the Hayleys Group. Her diverse experience spans across government, non-government, academia, private and the corporate sector including the banking sector. She holds a LLB from the University of Colombo and Attorneys-at-Law with First Class Honours from Sri Lanka Law College. She also holds a Master’s Degrees in Human Resource Management from the University of Northampton, Master’s Degree in International Relations and a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Colombo.
Managing Director – Singer Group
Mr. Wijewardene serves as an Executive Director and Group Managing Director of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC and its subsidiary companies. He counts over 30 years of managerial experience in diverse disciplines. He is a former Chairman of Ceylon Chamber of Commerce - Import Section and Sri Lanka - China Business Council. Mr. Wijewardene holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland and received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
He also holds a Diploma in General Management from the Open University of Sri Lanka and has attended Executive
Managing Director – Hayleys Aventura Group and Hayleys Consumer
Dr. Jayasekera is the Managing Director of both Hayleys Aventura (Pvt) Ltd. and Hayleys Consumer Products Limited. He has extensive international and domestic experience in the areas of Marketing and Sales, Trading, Finance and Controlling, Business restructuring and Management Information Systems.
He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Kelaniya. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Science, from the University of Kelaniya.
Dr. Jayasekera is a fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka and a Life Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing. He also holds a Diploma in Computer Systems and Design from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM).
Managing Director – Eco Solutions Group
Mr. Ruwan Rajapakse serves as the Managing Director of the Eco Solutions Sector.
Mr. Rajapakse possesses over 30 years of professional experience with more than 20 years of international exposure, serving in senior leadership positions across global manufacturing, supply chain management, agriculture, and international trade.
Mr. Rajapakse is a member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Australia. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Physical Science from the University of Kelaniya and an MBA from the University of Colombo. He is also Lean Six Sigma Black Belt qualified in Manufacturing.
Managing Director – Alumex Group
Mr. Dediwela is the Managing Director of the Alumex Group, at which he commenced his career in 1989. He has over 37 years of diverse experience within the Alumex Group covering the areas of Marketing and Sales, Material and Logistics, Finance, Manufacturing and Administration and Human Resources.
A marketer and financial economist, Mr. Dediwela holds a Master’s in Financial Economics from the University of Colombo, MBA from the University of Southern Queensland, Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Financial Administration (CA Sri Lanka/Cranfield UK), Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and Diploma in Management from the Open University of Sri Lanka.
Managing Director – Mabroc Group
A founder of Mabroc Teas (Pvt) Ltd, Mr. Ranatunga held the position of Commercial Director with the responsibility for marketing bulk tea and branded teas in international markets, prior to his appointment as Managing Director in 2014. He commenced his career in tea tasting in 1980 serving as an auctioneer and tea broker at John Keells Ltd. He has received training in tea tasting and blending at UK’s Lyons Tetley and R. Twinnings & Co. Ltd. He spearheaded the initiative to launch the world’s first ethical tea brand at the United Nations Global Compact.
Managing Director – Hayleys Fentons Group
Mr. Prematillake serves as the Managing Director of Hayleys Fentons Limited and its subsidiaries. Prior to this, he was the Country Director and General Manager of Ansell Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Industries Ltd. He also held a managerial position at Chevron Lubricants Lanka.
He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree (Merit pass) from the University of Colombo where he was awarded the prestigious Dr. Linus Silva Medal for Best Overall Performance. He also holds a B.Sc. Engineering Degree (Hon’s.) from University of Moratuwa. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Passed Finalist of CA Sri Lanka and a Graduate of the British Computer Society. He is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Member of the Council of Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka (CCISL).
Managing Director – Hand Protection Group
Mr. Janadheera is the Managing Director of Dipped Products PLC. Prior to his appointment in January 2023, he functioned as the Deputy Managing Director of DPL. He has over 25 years’ experience in the field of manufacturing of value-added rubber products and marketing of tyres, rubber gloves and other rubber related products, both locally and internationally.
Mr. Janadheera holds an MBA and a B.Sc in Accountancy (Special) Degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is a Fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka, Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) of UK, Associate member of Global Management Accountants (CGMA) of UK and Associate member of the National Institute of Accountants of Australia.
Group Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Hewagama is a highly skilled finance professional with nearly two decades of diverse experience spanning Financial Management, Reporting, Budgeting and Financial Planning & Analysis. He currently serves as the Group Chief Financial Officer of Hayleys PLC, with responsibility for the Group’s Finance & Reporting, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Tax, Risk & Safety and Corporate Secretarial functions among others. Since joining Hayleys PLC in 2010, he has progressed steadily within the Group, assuming increasingly senior roles and building extensive experience across a broad spectrum of finance disciplines. He has also played a pivotal role in driving the Group’s ESG agenda and has been instrumental in advancing the Group’s corporate reporting practices, helping to ensure that the Hayleys PLC’s Annual Report continues to set benchmarks in corporate and sustainability reporting. Since his appointment to the GMC, he has contributed actively to the organisation’s strategic direction and growth aspirations. Mr. Hewagama is also currently spearheading the Group’s foray into the Retail Sector, providing strategic direction in driving operational execution and positioning the sector for sustainable long-term growth.
He is a Member of the CA Sri Lanka and holds an MBA and BBA (Special) in Finance from the University of Colombo. He is a Director of several fully-owned subsidiaries of the Group.
Managing Director – Construction & Engineering Sector
A senior financial professional, Mr. De Silva has over 35 years of experience across diversified conglomerates, multinational FMCG organizations, and investment banking. His career includes 14 years at Nestlé Lanka PLC and 9 years at Coca-Cola Sri Lanka, of which 7 years were spent in overseas assignments. Mr. De Silva holds a Master of Business Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also an alumnus of the University of Stellenbosch Business School in South Africa and has completed an Executive Development Programme at Hult Ashridge Business School in England. He is a Fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka, a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), and a Fellow Member of CPA Australia.
Deputy Managing Director - Purification Group
An engineer by profession, Mr. Balaratnarajah possesses extensive experience in engineering project management, manufacturing operations and sustainability. Having joined Haycarb PLC in 1996 as a Maintenance Engineer, he progressed to the position of General Manager in 2010, following his leadership of Recogen Operations from 2004 to 2010. With a career at Haycarb spanning nearing three decades, he currently oversees all manufacturing operations, engineering projects, the Environmental Engineering Segment, corporate sustainability and the European market expansion.
Mr. Balaratnarajah holds a First Class Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, India, and is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
